Bushings

Excellence in delivery:

For over 50 years, HEF has designed and manufactured high-performance bushings, rings, and gaskets for demanding applications in industries such as construction, mining, steel processing, transportation, forestry, material handling, and agriculture.

HEF bushings are recognized worldwide for their superior friction and anti-seize properties, as well as their ability to withstand high loads. They are the ideal choice for applications requiring extended lubrication intervals.

Three factors make HEF bushings exceptionally easy to maintain in high-load, low-speed applications:

  • Optimized steel selection and heat treatment
  • Patented surface treatments
  • Patented surface topographies: internal hatching and surface cavities

The hatching consists of a network of grooves on the inner surface of the bushing. In lubricated joints, these grooves form interconnected grease reservoirs, allowing lubrication intervals to increase by up to 100%. Furthermore, the hatching facilitates the evacuation of hard debris, common in many industrial applications, reducing premature wear.

The surface cavities act as lubricant reservoirs, keeping the grease at the contact points and enabling maintenance-free operation or extended lubrication intervals. At high sliding speeds, these cavities promote local hydrodynamic friction, allowing the pressure to be supported by the grease at the contact points.

HEF offers a variety of patented bushing designs in a wide range of sizes, as well as case-hardened and ground sleeve bearings. To determine the most suitable design for an application, designers must assess the working environment conditions, including abrasion, load, corrosion, and maintenance requirements.

In addition to bushings and bearings, HEF supplies a wide range of other friction components, including pins, shafts and sleeves; slides and pads, washers, rollers, screws and nuts.
